Silver and Cut Glass Cruet Set by Paul Storr
This neoclassical silver and cut glass cruet set was crafted by renowned silversmith Paul Storr. A pair of cruets for oil and vinegar, two condiment jars and four stoppered sauce bottles crafted of finely cut glass mounted in silver sit securely on a handled tray adorned with egg-and-dart trim, elegantly scrolled handles and ball feet. The glass vessels themselves include angular, flat-topped handles and are held within their individual banded silver compartments culminating in fluted columns and lion’s paw feet.
Storr is considered by many to be the greatest silversmith of his era and was the principal silversmith of Rundell, Bridge & Rundell, the Royal Jewelers and Silversmiths to their majesties George III, George IV and their extended families.
